LWC Basketball inducts Dickerson, Voight into Hall of Fame Dickerson one of only 11 Blue Raiders ever to score at least 1,000 career points; Jim Voight guided 1972 team to National Championship - the school's first ever athletic national championship Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Duane Bonifer COLUMBIA, KY - Two new members were inducted Saturday into the Lindsey Wilson Athletic Hall of Fame. Chris Dickerson, who played basketball from 1987-90, and the late Jim Voight, who coached men's basketball from 1970-73, were inducted at a morning ceremony at William T's at the Pines at Lindsey Wilson. Dickerson - a Bardstown, Ky., native who now lives in Louisville, KY - is one of 11 LWC men's basketball players to score at least 1,000 career points. He finished his 2-1/2 year career with 1,270 points - the fourth most in program history - and still holds the LWC single-season scoring average record, set in 1989-90 with 20.8 points. LWC won its first athletic national title in 1972 when Voight guided the men's basketball team to the National Little College Athletic Association championship. He finished his coaching career with more than 600 career wins. He died in 2003 at the age of 67. - Duane Bonifer. Lindsey Wilson College This story was posted on 2012-10-21 11:07:49
