C/AC KY Treasure Hunters program was a great success Even Adair Fiscal Court had unclaimed assets! Treasure Hunters assist 169 with applications - many more with detailed data for completing forms online. Treasurer Hollenbach says turnout in Columbia one of the best he's seen. Team from Frankfort, along with Todd Hollenbach, Sr., stayed an extra two hours to see that all in line were served. Staff perseveres through lunch without break, but visit Ol' Joe's for a little dinner afterwards Click on headline for full story, photo(s) By Victoria Pike The Treasure Hunters program was a great success Friday, October 19, 2012, with 169 people coming through the lines to lay claim to their unclaimed property or property of deceased family members. Even though we announced the event would be over at 2pmCT, we stayed and served our last person at around 4 pmCT. Todd Hollenbach who is the Kentucky State Treasurer and his staff along with Todd Hollenbach Sr., his father, stayed an extra two hours to see that all that were in line were able to get their claim in. Many more came by and decided to download the form on their computer due to the long line. With those added in, the total served were over 225, we estimate. Many came on their lunch break. After working through lunch without a break, we all stopped by Ole Joe's BBQ to visit with Ole Joe and have a little dinner and some to go. Mr. Hollenbach told me that this was one of the biggest turnouts he had ever held for the Treasure Finders program. If you are still on the list and didn't get in today, you can still claim your property by going to kytreasury.com and click on treasure finders and then Adair County to find the list of names. Once you have found your name, you can download a form to send in to the state treasury and after verification they will send you necessary paperwork for you to claim your property. There is also a 1-800 number to call if you need assistance. We were even able to find some unclaimed money for Adair County Fiscal Court. Some of our magistrates as well as some of our citizens left very, very happy people. Vicky Pike --Victoria Pike This story was posted on 2012-10-20 05:45:40
