LWC Men's Basketball picked as 3rd in the MSC in 2012-13 1st GAME: Basketball Lindsey Wilson Men host VA/Lynchburg at Biggers Sports Center In the first game of the 2012 season. at 7pmCT on Friday, November 2, 2012, hosting Virginia-Lynchburg in Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson Athletics COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson College, the defending Mid-South Conference men's basketball champion, was picked to finish third in the conference's preseason coaches' poll, released on Friday by league officials. The Blue Raiders collected 74 voting points and picked up one of the 11 first-place votes. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team. Georgetown (Kentucky) is the favorite to finish atop the conference standings. The Tigers received five first-place votes for a league-leading 85 points. Pikevile (Pikeville, Ky) was voted to finish second with 80 points and four first-place nods. Cumberlands (Ky.) was the final team to receive a first-place vote, taking fourth place with 68 points. The next teams on the list were Campbellsville (Campbellsville, KY) in fifth, St. Catharine (St. Catharine, near Springfield, KY.) in sixth place and Cumberland (Lebanon, KY) taking seventh. Rio Grande (Ohio) and Shawnee State (Portsmouth, Ohio) tied for eighth place with 28 points each, while UVa.-Wise was picked 10th and Bluefield (Bluefield, VA) rounded out the poll in 11th.
