LWC Named Champions of Character Five-Star Institution

Eighth year in a row Lindsey Wilson has received honor

By Chris Wells, Sports Information Director News from Lindsey Wilson College

KANSAS CITY, MO - Lindsey Wilson College earned National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Champions of Character Five-Star Institution distinction for the 2011-12 season.

Lindsey Wilson is one of 221 NAIA institutions to earn the honor reserved for institutions that score at least 60 points on the Champions of Character Scorecard. The Champions of Character Scorecard measures each institution's commitment to the NAIA Champions of Character program. Points are earned in five key areas: character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion.

Lindsey Wilson scored 73 points on the Scorecard to earn the honor for the eighth consecutive year.

Lindsey Wilson's efforts helped the Mid-South Conference earn the Champions of Character Five-Star Conference award. Conferences must have 60 percent of their membership earn 60 points on the Scorecard in order to be named a Five-Star Conference.
