Harold Calvin "Cherokee" Allinson, 64, of the Sparksville community in Adair County, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 1pm at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY.

At Cherokee's request, there will no public visitation or funeral service. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.



Harold Calvin "Cherokee" Allinson, Sparksville, KY (1948-2012)

He was born September 9, 1948. He was the son of the late Beryl and Jewell Allinson. He died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY at the age of 64 years, 1 month, and 8 days.

He served in Vietnam in the US Army Special Forces.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Carol Yarberry Allinson on June 12, 2012 Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Rhett Allinson of Columbia, KY; and Shane Ferguson of Brandenburg, KY

  • One daughter: Rhea Allinson of Columbia, KY

  • Three brothers: Milan and Boyd Allinson both of Arkansas; and Eugene Allinson of Louisville, KY

  • One grandchild: Mandi Allinson
