LWC Wrestling opens 2012-13 season ranked No. 5 - NAIA Poll

KANSAS CITY, MO - Seven Lindsey Wilson College grapplers are ranked individually to give the Blue Raiders a No. 5 ranking in the NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Preseason Top-20 Poll, NAIA officials announced on Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

Lindsey Wilson obtained 62.5 team points in the preseason poll voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the Qualifying Groups.




Southern Oregon University sits atop the poll with 139 team points followed by Campbellsville University with 94.5 team points.

Jacob Bradford and Wismit Moinius each received a No. 4 ranking in their respective weight classes in the individual rankings to lead the Blue Raiders. Bradford is fourth in the nation at the 197-pound weight class while Moinius is fourth at 141 pounds.

Isaac Thomas is fifth at 149 while James Haywood (174 pounds) and Derek Nickel (Heavyweight) are both sixth in their weight class.

Myron Bradbury and Teddy Furnish round out the ranked Blue Raiders. Bradbury is 12th at 125 pounds and Furnish is 15th at Heavyweight.

Lindsey Wilson finished fourth at the NAIA National Championships last season, including sending three to the national championship match.

The first regular-season poll is scheduled to be announced on November 21, 2012.
