LWC Volleyball wins 3-1 at St. Catharine News from Lindsey Wilson College ST. CATHARINE, KY - Lindsey Wilson College's Sarah Anderson and Taylor Hayne each hit double-digit kills to lead the Blue Raiders to a 3-1 win Tuesday night, October 16, 2012, over host St. Catharine College. The win keeps the Blue Raiders in a second-place tie with Campbellsville University, Campbellsville, KY, and Shawnee State University, Portsmouth, OH, in the Mid-South Conference standings. All three teams are 7-2 and trail Georgetown College who leads the conference at 10-0. Anderson recorded a team-high 14 kills and Hayne added 12 in the Blue Raiders' 24-26, 25-20, 25-14, 25-13 win. St. Catharine falls to 8-16 overall and 2-8 in conference play with the loss. The Blue Raiders' hitting attack struggled in the opening set, managing just eight team kills. Despite the misfires, Lindsey Wilson (17-8) managed to keep the set close before falling 24-26. Lindsey Wilson would have little resistance the rest of the way. Anderson and Hayne combined for nine kills in the second set en route to helping the Blue Raiders knot the match at 1-1 with a 25-20 win. Anderson and Hayne committed just one error each in the match as the duo combined for a .429 attacking percentage. Lindsey Wilson dominated from start to finish in the final two sets on its way to the 3-1 win. Andrea Taylor provided a double-double during the match with 37 assists and 17 digs. Kristi Hager led the Blue Raider defense with 25 digs in the win. Sierra Wilkerson added five kills to the Lindsey Wilson offense while finishing with two solo blocks and seven assisted blocks on defense.
