KSP, Elizabethtown looking for inmate who walked away By MTPR Norman Chaffins, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY (ELIZABETHTOWN, KY) - On Friday, October 5, 2012 Post 4 Trooper Jack Baumgardner responded to the old Detention Center downtown to investigate an inmate who had escaped. Staff at the jail advised Tpr. Baumgardner that 23-year-old Robert W. Wilson was being moved from the old facility to the facility on US31W. A Sergeant with the Detention Center left Wilson downstairs in a chair and went upstairs to retrieve Wilson's belongings for the transport to the other facility. When the Sergeant returned Wilson was gone. The door to the outside activity area was not locked. The outside gate was locked but could still be opened and closed. It is believed that Wilson simply walked away. Wilson is described as a white male, 6'1", 150 lbs., blonde hair, blue eyes with a light complexion and thin build. Wilson was serving time for Rape 2nd. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on Wilson's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Kentucky State Police at (270) 766-5078 or (800) 222-5555. This story was posted on 2012-10-13 05:10:03
