ACGC presents: Master Gardener Beth Rutherford's Secrets of Crepe Myrtles Even the Best Gardener can be Driven to Commit "Crepe Murder"..., Barbara Armitage says, but using crepe myrtle secrets of Master Gardener Beth Rutherford, Adair Countians can be successful at growning this garden icon of the south. Each attendee will get a Free Crepe Myrtle to plant in their garden by Barbara Armitage President, Adair Garden Club The Adair County Garden Club will offer Landscaping with Crepe Myrtles presented by Beth Rutherford at 1pmCT, Thursday October 25, 2012 in the basement of the Columbia/Adair Chamber of Commerce, 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia. Everyone is invited to attend. Beth Rutherford is a Master Gardener with nearly two decades of experience cultivating one of her favorite garden plants the "Crepe Myrtle". She will share her secrets of successful growing of this all but forgotten garden icon of the south including planting, care and pruning - sometimes sadly known as Crepe Murder. Everyone at the class will receive a free Crepe Myrtle to plant in their own garden. Additional Crepe Myrtles will be available for sale to students at the extraordinary price of $3.00 each. Early registration is recommended. Class tuition is free for active ACGC members and $5.00 for non-members and in-active members. To register please contact Barbara Armitage at 270-250-2979. The Garden Club meets at 1pmCT on the 4th Thursday of each month in a variety of locations. Each meeting is designed to expand your knowledge of gardening techniques, landscape ideas, environmental issues, natural resources, birds, wildlife and more. There are no fees or dues to be a member of the Garden Club and everyone is welcome. We are committed to making Adair County a more beautiful, safer and healthier place to live.
