COLUMBIA, KY - Mia Persson and Cecilia Ekstrand combined for five goals Wednesday night, October 10, 2012, to help the Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team to a 5-0 win over visiting neighbor Campbellsville University at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.

With the win, the Blue Raiders (11-2-1, 8-0 in the Mid-South Conference) clinch at least a share of the program's 13th MSC regular season crown. Lindsey Wilson closes out conference play on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, as the Blue Raiders host University of Pikeville, Pikeville, KY.

Persson scored the game's first two goals in the 16th and 28th minutes to give the Blue Raiders a 2-0 lead.

Persson opened the scoring with a rocket from just outside the penalty area that curled over Campbellsville goalkeeper Brandie Hagerman's outstretched hands for the early 1-0 lead.

Persson's goal came on the end of a pair of nifty passes.

Renee Hurd started the sequence with a cross from the left flank into the penalty area and onto the boot of Elizabet Madjarac. Madjarac sent a touch pass to the top of the box where Persson finished for the goal -- her ninth straight game with at least one goal.

Nearly 12 minutes later, Ekstrand played a through ball to Persson who won a one-on-one battle with Hagerman for the 2-0 lead.

The Blue Raiders looked to be heading into the halftime break with the two-goal lead, but Ekstrand and Laerke Lillelund Michaelsen had other ideas.

Michaelsen served the ball from the right flank in the waning seconds of the half where Ekstrand one-timed it past Hagerman with 0.3 seconds left in the half for the 3-0 lead.

Following the break, Ekstrand and Michaelsen hooked up for a second time in the 62nd minute to push the lead to 4-0. The goal is Ekstrand's seventh of the season while Michaelsen picked up her team-leading eighth assist of the year.

Persson closed the night's scoring 10 minutes later off Saeda Sueki's assist for the 5-0 lead and eventual win. The goal was Persson's team-leading 17th of the season.

No. 3-ranked Lindsey Wilson out-shot the Tigers 23-2 on the night, including 17-0 in shots on-goal. Campbellsville falls to 5-6-1 overall and 3-2 in the MSC with the loss.

Hagerman ended the evening with 12 saves while the combination of Josephine Frigge and Megan Rauch did not face a shot on target.
