Mrs. Dorothy Birde Perkins Wright, 96, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Birde Perkins will be conducted at 11amCT, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the Bennett Cemetery. Bro. Don Bruington, Bro. Robert Knight, and Mike Durrett will be officiating. Visitation is requested 3pm-9pmCT/4pm-10pmET, Tuesday October 9, 2012, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, and after 9amCT/10amET, Wednesday at the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church until time of the funeral service.



Dorothy Perkins Wright, Green Co., KY (1916-2012)


Mrs. Dorothy Birde Perkins Wright was the daughter of the late Lucas Perkins and Anna Lee Marr Perkins. She was born on Sunday, April 30, 1916 in Chapin, Morgan County, Illinois. She departed this life on Saturday, October 6, 2012, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 96 year, 5 months, and 6 days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Henry Edward Wright on July 29, 1933 who preceded her in death on December 24, 1988.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three sons and daughters in law: Charles Edward and Shirley Wright of Summersville, KY; William and Jane Wright of Greensburg, KY; and Herbert and Betty Wright of Summersville, KY

  • Two daughters and sons in law: Mae Lobb Milby and her husband William Earl of Summersville, KY; and Barbara and Mike Bagby of Florida

  • Seven grandchildren: H.L. Wright, Ricky Wright, Eugene Wright, David Wright, Kimberly Ann Lobb, Michelle Bagby Keltner all of Greensburg, KY; and Mark Bagby of Florida

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • One great great grandchild

  • Seven step grandchildren

  • Fifteen step great grandchildren

  • Five step great great grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Wright was also preceded in death by three children: Robert Wright, Donnie Wright, and Mary Alice Wright; and four brothers: Claude Perkins, Vester Perkins, Willis Perkins, and Ellis Perkins.

Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, American Cancer Society, or the Jane Todd Crawford Auxiliary, which can be made at the funeral home. Pnline condolences at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.
