Lonis Taylor, Adair County, KY (1928-2012)

She was the matriarch of a large, respected Adair County, KY family. She leaves 21 direct living descendants. She attended Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and was a homemaker.

Lonis Taylor, 84, of Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Norton Hosparus Inpatient Unit in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Foster officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Wednesday, October 10, 2012.



Casket Bearers: Michael Dial, Larry "Grasshopper" Taylor, Ronnie Dial, Shaw Rowe, Jeff Thomas, and Donnie Ford.
Lonis Taylor, Adair County, KY (1928-2012)


She was born Friday, May 16, 1928, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Bob and Estelle Burton Sinclair. She died Tuesday, October 9, 2012, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 24 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Dee, Raymond & Claude Sinclair, Ruby Bryant and Faylene Guthrie.

She attended Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and was a homemaker.

Survivors include the following:
  • Five children: Marla (Bill) Armstrong of Eminence, Sheila Pendleton, Larry "Buck" (Teresa) Taylor, Barry "Duggie" Taylor all of Columbia, KY; and Kenny Taylor of Monticello, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren
  • A special friend; Joyce Rowe of Columbia, KY

  • Several other relatives and friends
