Lexington's David Cozart to speak at CU about race Campbellsville University's Annual Dialogue on Race By Samantha Stevenson News from Campbellsville University CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - The Rev. David Cozart, program director for the Fayette County Fatherhood Initiative at the Lexington Leadership Foundation in Lexington, KY, will speak during Campbellsville University's weekly chapel service at 10amET, Wednesday, October 17, 2012, in Ransdell Chapel, located on CU's campus at 401 N. Hoskins Avenue, Campbellsville, KY. Cozart will discuss the racial issues students face on campus and is a participant in the university's annual Dialogue on Race. Dialogue on Race is a program that meets to discuss race relations and racism. Students who participate in Dialogue on Race will partake in several different discussions, including: The Prevalence and Power of Racism in America, Changing Racist Attitudes and Public Policies for Ending Race-Based Inequality and Injustice. Students will hear from various community leaders discussing these issues. The Lexington Leadership Foundation seeks to restore, equip and deploy fathers, families, congregations and the community at-large. He has served as the administrator of development at the Urban League of Lexington/Fayette County since 2007. Cozart is one of the founding members of the Urban League Young Professionals, which was founded in 2002. He is a nationally certified Community Organizer in the Neighborhood Revitalization Training Institute, where he has been an active member since 2000. He is an ordained minister at First Baptist Bracktown in Lexington, KY. Cozart is a member of the Fayette County Public Schools Equity Council and the Campbellsville University Church Relations Council. He is the board chairman of the Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden Program. He is also a University of Kentucky football chaplain. Cozart is a 1989 graduate of Crittenden County High School and 1993 graduate of Campbellsville University. He earned a bachelor degree in psychology and sociology. He is earning his master's degree in theology at Campbellsville University. He is married to NeKesha Cozart. He is the father of three children: Zachary, Destiny and Dalen Cozart. He is the son of the late Charles and Eva Hill.
