WILLIAMSBURG, KY - Elisha Fry and Mia Persson scored two goals each as the third-ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team used a 5-0 halftime lead to ultimately top the University of the Cumberlands of Williamsburg, KY, 5-1 on Saturday, October 6, 2012.

After the goal explosion in the first frame, the Blue Raiders went without a score in the second half as the Patriots finally got on the scoreboard in the 72nd minute.

Lindsey Wilson set the pace of the game, outshooting Cumberlands 23-12 overall, including a 13-4 advantage in shots on goal. Persson led the Blue Raiders with five shots, while Ana Derrico led Cumberlands with four.

In a half with five goals scored, it took Lindsey Wilson 20 minutes to get things started with Perssons' unassisted strike. After she broke the seal of the Patriots' goal it was an all out attack as Fry punched in a penalty kick for the next goal in the 27th minute.

Three minutes later Persson found the back of the net again off an assist from Sabrina Tom, followed by a goal by Renee Hurd three minutes apart again and Fry ending the scoring in the 39th minute off a pass from Ayaki Shinada.

Derrico scored for the Patriots in the second half as they avoided giving Lindsey Wilson the shutout. Josephine Frigge spent the first half in goal for the Blue Raiders without a save as Loren Cerafice closed out the second half with three saves and the one goal allowed.

Patriot goalkeeper Autumn Williams kept busy, making eight saves with all five goals allowed.

For Persson, it was her eighth straight game scoring a goal, while four of those outputs were multiple scores. Through 13 games this season, she has scored a goal in nine of them to push herself to third place on the all-time scoring list with 55 career goals.
