Bobby Joe Burton, 78, of Edinburgh, Indiana died at 7:05pmCT, Friday, September 28, 2012 at Johnson Memorial Hospital emergency room in Franklin, Indiana.

In keeping with Mr. Burton's wishes, cremation is planned. There will be no services.



He was a descendant of Adair County, KY forebears, with many relatives among Adair County's largest family

Mr. Burton was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a self-employed carpenter.

Bobby Joe Burton, Adair Co., KY descendant (1933-2012)

Born in San Antonio, Texas October 13, 1933, Mr. Burton was the son of Enoch and Deller Burton of Adair County, KY. He died Friday, September 28, 2012, in Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana, at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and 15 days.

Survivors include:
  • Children: Tommy Lee (Karen) Burton of Old Town, FL; Dana Louis (Janis) Burton of Gulf Port, FL; Robert Lee (Kim) Burton of Pinellas Park, FL; and Doris Marie Burton of Hot Springs, AR

  • His companion: Ruth Jones of Edinburgh, In

  • A step-daughter, Joyce Frost of Edinburgh, IN

  • Sisters Alma (Junior) Walls of Columbus and Elsie (Elmer) Burton of Columbia, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren
Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Brenda Sue Burton Pickelman and a brother Enoch Burton, Jr.

Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home in Columbus, IN.
