Campbellsville University plans on Engage 24 Day for Oct. 11 
By Mary KutterNews from Campbellsville University CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - October 11 is going to be a big day for student ministry at Campbellsville University through the Baptist Campus Ministry (BCM) challenge called Engage 24, according to Ed Pavy, director of campus ministries. "Engage 24 is a 24-hour period when college students will make a coordinated effort to engage their campuses with the Gospel of Jesus Christ," Pavy said, "Our desire is to see every believing college student share the Gospel with one person that day." According to Pavy, the Campbellsville University BCM Council has taken the challenge a step further by having weekly prayer meetings on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. The group began the meetings on Sept.11 and met at the clock tower to pray. "We wanted to utilize a central location on our campus and be visible," Pavy said. Dr. Twyla Hernandez, an assistant professor of Christian missions, has organized an effort through the School of Theology to assist in the overall effort. A prayer tent will be raised on campus, and students can sign up to have 24 hours of prayer for the October 11 event. The 24-hour prayer cycle begins on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 10amET and will continue until 10amET on Thursday, October 11. Pavy is asking every faculty member who is teaching one or more classes on October 11 to take 5-7 minutes at the beginning or end of each class period that day to share the Gospel. If a faculty member would prefer to not be the person actually sharing the Gospel, then a volunteer can be arranged to come for that purpose. "Our goal is to say that, to the best of our ability, not only will every Christian student share his/her faith but that every student at the main campus on that day will hear the Gospel," said Pavy.
