News from Adair County School District

Kindergarten students in Mary Keen's classroom at Adair County Elementary School were excited to learn about the new iPads that were presented to their school on Tuesday, September 18, 2012.

Patrick Hagan, District Technology Assistant who configured the iPads and Mrs. Keen collaborated to teach students about appropriate iPad usage.

The students then utilized the Toy Story app, an interactive book that read the story to them and included activities.

"iPads provide students with interactive learning opportunities that inspire creativity and hands-on-learning. And, with over 20,000 educational apps, there are apps available to meet the individual learning needs of all students." commented Carla Perkins, Technology Director.

The students collectively said that the iPads are fun and that they enjoy playing (instructional) games and reading on the iPads.

The WHAS Crusade for Children partially funded 50 iPads for the Adair County School District, 10 for each of the five schools.
