Two write-in candidates have filed for school board Two write in candidates have filed, Bill Steele, Jr., and Rhonda Cox, and one sitting board member's residency status is being questioned The November 6, 2012, school board race is getting curiouser and curiouser. A check at Adair County Clerk Sheila Blair's office indicated that two candidates have now filed as write-in candidates for the Adair County School Board. Bill Steele, Jr. has filed as a write-in for Division 5, the Division now served by Mike Harris, who is a candidate for reelection Rhonda Cox has filed as a write-in for Division 4, the Division now served by Board Chairman Floyd Burton, who has filed for reelection. No write in candidates have filed for the other open seat, Division 2, now served by Marsha Walker, who is a candidate, but two candidates were already on the ballot. They are Charles Miller and Quinna Lasley. The seat of another incumbent on the school board is being challenged. According to information received at CM, Board Attorney Jeff Hoover has been asked to look into a question of eligibility for Division 1 Board Member Rebecca Turner, who recently moved to an area on the Adair County Veterans Bypass which may not be in the Division she represents. A write in candidate, Jimmy Bennett, has also filed for the Soil Conservation District. Clerk Blair said that only votes for write in candidates who have filed are eligible to be counted.
