By Ellen Zornes

Members of the Grand Group, grandparents (or other nonparent relatives) raising grandchildren, held their first meeting of the new school year at Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

The guest speaker was Connie Duncan with Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System who discussed inpatient and outpatient services available for children, adolescents, and adults as well as the referral process, appropriate admissions, and Medicare reimbursement. Lunch was served and door prizes given.

Door prize winners of automatic umbrellas were Ms. Jean Arnett and Ms. Alla Walkup. The prizes were presented by Ms. Connie Duncan of Lincoln Trails Behavioral Systems.

The Grand Group is a support group for grandparents or other nonparent relatives who are raising their grandchildren or other child family members. We meet monthly at different times and locations.

If you are a nonparent relative fulltime child caregiver and are not receiving our monthly meeting notifications but would like to, please contact Ellen Zornes at 270-384-3400 or your child's Family Resource or Youth Services Center. - Ellen Zornes
