Tax bills out earlier - On time. First time in long time

Adair County's Tax bills are scheduled to be mailed on September 29, 2012 this year. That's a month earlier than usual, because all of the taxing districts got their rates in on time this year, Alice Stephens in the Sheriff Harrison Moss' office said.

The tax for the Adair County Hospital District will not be a part of the bill, Stephens said. It has been delayed until put to a vote in November 2014, because of a successful Hospital Tax Recall Petition.

This year, the tax bill will on an postcard, designed to save money on printing costs.

Payments for taxes will be received starting October 1, 2012, by mail or in person at the Sheriff's Office, upstairs in the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY.
