26th Annual Green River Lake Volunteer Lakeshore Cleanup By Andrea O'Brian, Park Ranger Green River Lake Thanks to the hard work of 218 volunteers and the support of 83 sponsors, the 26th Annual Green River Lake Volunteer Lakeshore Cleanup was another big success. On Saturday, September 15, 2012 approximately 129 bags of trash, 56 tires, a swimming pool, 2 TVs, a small refrigerator, box springs, and a cooler were picked up from the lakeshore with a cost savings to the government of over $14,250.66. Volunteers at the event consisting of school groups, boy scouts, cub scouts, and community members all worked along side one another for a common cause of enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Green River Lake. Due to this combined effort and concern for the environment, the shore line at Green River Lake is cleaner for all to enjoy. We at the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at Green River Lake would like to express our deep appreciation for the time, energy and support that made this event possible. Thanks again to all the volunteers and sponsors listed below who made this event a success.
