Roy Harlan Grider, 90, Summer Shade, KY (d. Sept. 17, 2012) Metcalfe County has lost one of its most respected citizens. He was president of the Bank of Summer Shade and a director of the Edmonton State Bank. He was a farmer and was involved in many community activities. He was a Godly man, having been dedicated to his wife of 67 years, Doris Pedigo Grider and a Sunday School Teacher at Missionary Mound Baptist Church where he attended for many years. He was a veteran of the World War II and will be accorded military honors by the Glasgow Chapter 20 of the DAV. Roy Harlan Grider, age 90 of Summer Shade, died Monday, September 17, 2012 at the T J Samson Community Hospital, Glasgow, KY. He was the son of the late Victor and Laura Holloway Grider and a Veteran of WWII. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 1pmCT, at the Missionary Mound Baptist Church with Bro Walter Graham and Bro. Dale Copas officiating. Burial will follow in the Missionary Mound Cemetery with Military honors provided by the Glasgow Chapter 20 of the DAV. Visitation will be 3pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, September18, 2012 from at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY. and after 10amCT, Wednesday at the church.
