Five taken to WRH for treatment in 3 vehicle KY 55 accident

Accident involving Ford Ranger, Kia Rio and Nissan Altima occurred near Gate Store at 1125 Campbellsville Road (& Grant Lane) Bing Map

The Columbia Police Department responded to an injury accident on North KY 55, on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at around 11amCT.



The accident occurred when a 1989 Ford Ranger driven by Rodolfo Escobar, 50, of Columbia was traveling North on LU 55 when he came upon a stopped vehicle and due to wet roadways was unable to stop and struck a 2003 Kia Rio driven by Benjamin Kaylar, 44, of Columbia. KY.

The Kaylar vehicle was then forced into a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by Sonia Helm, 36, of Columbia, KY, who was waiting to turn left into the Gate Store.

Escobar, Kaylar and one passenger and Helm and one passenger were all transported to Westlake Regional Hospital by Adair EMS.

The accident was investigated by CPD officer Drew Conn.
