He was a member of a large, highly regarded Casey County family with relatives in Adair County and other widespread areas. He was retired from the Air Force and was a carpenter

Harold Ralph Dean, Casey County, KY, passed away on September 7 , 2012 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington.

Visitation will be held 5pmET/4pmCT, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY. on Sunday September 9 , 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11amET/10amCT, Monday September 10 , 2012 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dwight Coffman officiating.Burial will be in the Peavey Cemetery.



Harold Ralph Dean, Casey Co., KY (1933-2012)

He was born in Liberty, KY on March 3, 1933. Ralph was the son of the late John William and Sarah Velma Wright Dean. He died September 7, 2012, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 4 days.

Mr. Dean was retired from the U.S. Air Force and a carpenter.

Survivors include his spouse, Peggy Lanham Dean, and the following:
  • One daughter: Rita Faye Nichols of Greenbrier, AK

  • One son: Harold Edward "Harry" Dean of Liberty, KY

  • Four step children: Beverly & (Tim) McAninch, Carla Denny and Cathy Elmore all of Liberty, KY; and Billy Gibson of OH

  • Two grandchildren

  • Nine step-grandchildre

  • Three great grandchildren

  • Fourteen step great grandchildren

  • Three brothers: John Edwin Dean of Moreland, KY; Leonard Dean of Palm Dale, CA; and James Larry Dean of Moreland, KY

  • Four sisters: Rosa Carol Bertram of Stanford, KY; Betty Carmicle and Linda Peavey both of Liberty, KY; and Maryann Blair of Columbia, KY
Preceding him in death was one brother, Paul Dean.
