LWC Cycling dominates the Downhill at the Red Hawks Romp Click on headline for story with photo(s) By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson College WILD ROSE, WI - The Lindsey Wilson College cycling team took the top-four spots in the men's "A" downhill race at the Red Hawks Romp over the weekend at Ripon College, Ripon, WI. For the weekend the Blue Raiders brought home six first-place finishes through three disciplines. In the "A' downhill it was John Swanguen leading the way with a time of one minute and 34 seconds, while Brandon Hopkins claimed second place by 0.1 seconds with a finish of 1:44. Right behind him was teammate Joshua Patton. Swanguen set a course record in his second run of 46 seconds, topping the previous mark by four seconds. Just outside of the top-three finishers in fourth place was Blue Raider Ace Savarese with a time of 1:47. Lindsey Prososki claimed first place in the women's "B" portion with a time of 3:03. Lindsey Wilson claimed wins in the men's "B" and "C" cross-country races. Travis Monroe won the "B" race, while Alex Pepper was the other Blue Raider winner. In the men's "A" cross country it was Kenneth Hall finishing the best for Lindsey Wilson in sixth place. Two more Blue Raider wins were claimed in the short track portion of cross country racing. The first came in the men's "B" with Travis Monroe leading the way and the other was in the men's "C" with Alex Pepper. Lindsey Wilson finished just outside the top three in the men's "A' short track as Kenneth Hall claimed fourth place, while Taylor Ladd finished seventh. - Dan White This story was posted on 2012-09-04 12:43:27
