Ken Hill: Open debate foundation of this Country

By Ken Hill
Observations from the Hilltops of Hardscratch

I recently overheard someone say, "Lately, everybody seems stirred up over everything!", in regards to various issues now facing our County. I thought, "Great! To actually have enough interested and informed citizens to debate these matters is a wonderful thing for a Republic that oftentimes resembles an Oligarchy".

These principles of open debate are the foundation of this Country, and it is good to see them resurfacing.

In years past, one had to scream loudly from the street corner to offer opinions or views of opposition. With today's vast Social Media and good ole' Columbia Magazine those views can be expressed without strained vocal cords or sore throats.

Thanks, EW

Thank you, Ken Hill. Greatly appreciate this Observation! Only thing better is hearing words of wisdom first hand - at the Hardscratch store. Real nice people run that place. -EW
