Fundraiser Report: Final totals from the Pam Grant Benefit

A fundraiser was held Saturday evening, August 18, 2012, in the Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall for our Friend and Neighbor, Pam Grant. In the spirit of the Adair County Way, the sponsors want everyone to know exactly how much money was raised, and exactly where all the money went.

News from the Village of Hardscratch - Glensfork, KY

I now know what "1000 acts of kindness" look like. Outside of making a few donations to other events, I had never been personally involved in a Community based fundraiser. What an amazing Blessing to see the generosity, caring, and thoughtfulness of our Friends and Neighbors.

In the days leading up to our event no one refused our requests, everyone gave something and asked nothing in return. Some donated items for the auction, others gave cash, others donated their time and services, and a great many did all of these things.

The event itself exceeded our wildest expectations. A packed house enjoyed a great meal and the fellowship of coming together for a common cause.

Cash donations and auction items continued pouring in, even as we neared auction time. We started the auction with 185 items!

Our Auctioneer, Steve Wilson had a huge job in front of him. Bidders were generous, with many items bringing more than their original retail value.

At the end of the night everyone was worn out, but our spirits were lifted when we added up the donations, food sales, raffles, and the auction. $9612.50 raised!

ALL expenses were donated, so every penny goes to Pam!

There is no way to thank EVERYONE who made this possible, and no words to express our gratitude.

From the Glensfork Methodist Church, Pam Grant and Family, and all those involved in the effort...Thank You and may God Bless You. - Ken Hill
