Columbia, KY cycle rider flown to UK after Casey Co. Collision

Harley Davidson Motorcycle Rider Darin Powell, 33, of Adair County, KY flown to UK, as was Camry passenger Michael Wells, 50, Liberty, KY. Driver of Camry arrested, charged with driving under influence (DUI)

LIBERTY, KY - Trooper Bryan Shepard is investigating a collision that occurred at 4:53pmCT, Saturday, August 18, 2012, on US 127, 5 miles south of Liberty. Joseph Wooley, age 49 of Liberty, KY, was operating a 1990 Camry when he turned into the path of a 2003 Harley Davidson Motorcycle being operated by Darin Powell, age 33 of Columbia, KY. Powell was ejected from his bike.



Wooley's passenger Michael Wells, age 50 of Liberty, and Powell were both flown to University of Kentucky Hospital.

Wooley was arrested at the scene and charged with Driving Under the Influence 2nd and operating on suspended Operators License.

Trooper Shepard was assisted at the scene by Casey County Fire, EMS, and Rescue.
