WRH Situation: Wants to know credentials of board members

Writer says it's shame to cut benefits, salaries and lay off workers

By Tim Duncan
Personal views of the writer

I just recently have seen where two new individuals has been appointed to the hospital board.

My questions are, What are the credentials of these individuals? Do they have a background in Medical Administration or do they have some other background experience that would benefit the hospital?

I think information like this would be beneficial to the citizens of Adair County.

Information such as this could show to the citizens, voters, and property owners that our community leaders are trying to get the situation under control and also provide a boost of confidence to the public and of course the employees of Westlake.

As for myself I am trying to keep a open mind about all of this but it is getting harder to do that.

It is a shame that it has come to cutting benefits, salaries, laying workers off etc.

Do they really think they can keep the hospital open by doing this? Let's be realistic. The employees morale will be destroyed (if not already) and most likely will look for other employment. Jobs in the medical field are not hard to find.

In conclusion, I want to say that I have the utmost respect for Westlake and its employees.

I had to spend a week back in 2010 at Westlake and cannot say a bad word about it. From the ER to my room, I was treated with care and respect.

Can't even say I had a bad experience at all. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE seems to be very knowledgeable in their respected areas.

Honesty goes a long way!!!
