Kids Need Kicks Thank You Over 300 pairs of shoes provided for students in Adair County By Cricket McCloud Thanks to all of the wonderful contributions made by area churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals in and around Adair County, Kids Need Kicks 2012 was a tremendous success! Financial contributions totaled $2,200, and with the shoe box program and financial contributions, we were able to provide over 300 pairs of shoes for students in Adair County schools. All sources of media were tremendous in helping us receive donations and sponsorships for the program. Columbia Magazine shared numerous pictures along the way heralding the intent of the ministry and the dedication of many individuals who help KNK happen. To everyone who contributed, we offer our sincere appreciation, as well as our hopes that we can count on you to help us again next year! Any further donations made this year will be held to purchase new socks and shoes for Adair County students next year. It is wonderful to know that Adair County is so supportive of great causes like Kids Need Kicks, and all of the others we see throughout the year. The family resource and youth service centers in our school system do a tremendous job of helping area students get school supplies, medical services, and so many things that are of exceptional need. It has been our pleasure working with them once again to make sure that every child going back to school in Adair County had the opportunity to do so with a little pep in their step from a brand new pair of tennis shoes. Just ask any of the Physical Education teachers, and I'm sure they would agree! Thank you to Paula, Debbie Dunn, Debbie Cowan and Angelia Smith for setting up the appointments for the shoe pickup, taking the applications, and fitting the kids in socks and shoes on the pickup date. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for putting the children of Adair County first and hope that you will continue to support Kids Need Kicks in the future! The smiles and joy on the day of the shoe pickup makes it all worth the while! Sincerely, Cricket McCloud, Jennifer Richard, Mindy Smith, and Paula Garrison- Cricket McCloud This story was posted on 2012-08-12 12:01:13
