Adair County Bus 16 will be tribute to Charles Sparks Crusade team will be at Adair County Schools for the Event and local firefighters are being invited, among other special guests, for the dedication ceremony By Supt. Alan Reed News from Adair County, KY, School District On Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 7:00amCT, a major event will occur between Col. William Casey Elementary and John Adair Intermediate schools. WHAS and Larry Ledford of the Crusade for Children will be arriving with the morning bus load in the newly purchased special needs bus made possible by Adair donations to the Crusade, and through the hard work of the local media and fire department. The Crusade organization is producing a promotional video for the occasion, and that will be special. Adding to the flavor of the story is the fact that this bus is specially dedicated to the memory of fallen firefighter and local hero Charles Sparks. The bus has a dedication plaque inside with Charles' photo. The number of the bus (16) was also Charles Sparks' local badge number, making this all the more special. We are inviting a large delegation of local fire-fighters to be on hand and celebrate the memory of Charles Sparks and also what they've collectively been able to accomplish. David Jones, Transportation Director, and Anita Goode, Special Education Director, will participate in the event and will be assisting with the special media coverage expected that day. - Alan W.
