Blue Raider Danny Caluag's Olympic Journey comes to end

By Dan White
News from Lindsey Wilson College

Using points from five heats, the four cyclists with the lowest total score from each group advance to the semifinals. Caluag finished as high as fifth in his eight-man field, but will not advance to Friday's competition.

The collegiate BMX national champion tallied 29 points, while the highest scoring qualifier for the next round had 18 (Switzerland's Roger Rinderknecht).

Sixteen athletes are left vying for a gold medal after starting with 32 riders. Both the semifinals and finals will be completed on Friday.
