WRH, Columbia, KY, ends discussion with LifePoint Hospitals News release from Westlake Regional Hospital Submitted by Cheryl Wall at 6:40pmCT, (2012-08-08) August 8, 2012 - The Westlake Hospital Board announced today that they have terminated discussions with LifePoint Hospitals in an attempt to reach a definitive asset purchase agreement. Three months earlier on May 8, 2012, LifePoint Hospitals had been selected by the Board as the finalist in the Board's search for a strategic partner. Commenting on the Board's decision to terminate discussions with LifePoint Hospital's, Board Chairman James Evans stated that the Board simply could not accept the reduced offer price and the Board felt that it was in the best interests of the hospital and the Adair County residents to continue to identify another strategic partner. Discussions with other potential strategic partners will begin immediately. Westlake Health System is an integrated health provider serving central Kentucky residents for more than years.
