News from the Adair Co. High School FFA

The Adair County FFA chapter recently traveled to Washington DC for the National FFA Washington Youth Leadership Conference on July 24-29, 2012.

Created in 1969 and held annually in Washington, DC., the conference helps students develop leadership skills, identify personal strengths, develop awareness of societal differences and human needs and strategize how they can help others through community service.

They also participated in community service projects such as making and distributing over 45,000 packages of food to send overseas. While in Washington, DC the students were able to visit various places such as the Washington Monument, Abraham Lincoln Memorial and The Capital Building.

The students attending this trip were Jena Hopkins, Evan Shirley, Trent Sparks, Trey Spinks, Diana Trejo, Jameson Keen accompanied by Advisor Kirby Hancock and his family.
