He was the patriarch of a large, respected Dunnville, KY family. He leaves 10 direct living descendants. He was a farmer and a member of the Bethany Church of Christ

Mr. Vencie Stephens, 79, Turner Ridge Road, Dunnville, KY, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY.

The funeral service will be at 5pmCT, Monday, July 23, 2012, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro Gerald Burton officiating. Visitation is after 2pmCT, Monday at Bernard Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Luttrell Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Mark Smith, Derek Stephens, Jason Terwilliger, Justin Terwilliger, George Terwilliger, Wendell Terwilliger, and Carl Smith.


Vencie Stephens, 79, Dunnville, KY (1932-2012)


He was born Thursday, December 29, 1932, in Casey County, KY. He was the son of the late Thelma Price Stephens and the late Lenville Stephens. He died Saturday, July 21, 2012, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 23 days.

He was a farmer and a member of the Bethany Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Udell Stephens, Dunnville, KY, and the following:
  • Three children: Rickey Stephens, Dunnville, KY; Michael Stephens, Louisville, KY; and Linda (Mark) Smith, Bowling Green, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Derek and Marissa Stephens; and Juan, Molly, Mallory, Troy and Bentley Smith

  • One sister: Rose Luttrell, Dunnville, KY
Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
