Hospital tax hearing at 9amCT this morning, July 19, 2012

Hearing will be held at Trinity Fellowship Hall, 2252 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY. (Location is across KY 55 from Betty's OK Country Cooking)

The Adair County Hospital District public hearing on a proposed tax to survive the sale of the assets of Westlake Regional Hospital will be held at 9amCT, today, Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 2252 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY. according to information received from the office of Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton.

A letter requesting an Attorney General's opinion on the legality of the tax was authorized last week by a unanimous vote by the Adair County Fiscal Court. One answer eagerly awaited is whether the Attorney General will rule that the tax is recallable. Judge Melton requested a response as soon as possible, but told Fiscal Court last week that the timing of the ruling is completely in the hands of Attorney General Jack Conway's office.

The Adair County Hospital Board of Trustees have scheduled for a quick vote by the Hospital Board in a session, Friday, July 20, 2012 on the tax.
