F&FNB gift supports Adair residents who attend Lindsey Wilson Click on headline for complete article with photo(s) By Duane Bonifer COLUMBIA, KY - With more than 300 Adair County residents enrolled annually at Lindsey Wilson College, First & Farmers' Ann Martin knows the college is an important part of the Columbia-Adair County community. That's why she recently presented LWC President William T. Luckey Jr. with a $10,000 donation to the Lindsey Wilson Fund. The Lindsey Wilson Fund provides scholarships to the college's students. First & Farmers' gift will be used to help Adair County residents earn an LWC degree. Last school year, 387 Adair County residents enrolled at LWC. "Lindsey Wilson has a large economic impact on the local economy, so we want to do everything we can to support the college and area residents who attend Lindsey Wilson," said Martin, who is president of the bank's Columbia market. "As Lindsey Wilson grows, so do Columbia-Adair County." Martin knows firsthand the value of an LWC degree. She's a 1975 graduate of the college, and her son, Ross, graduated in 2005. He then graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry before entering the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry's department of oral and maxillofacial surgery. "One reason Lindsey Wilson has been among Kentucky's fastest-growing colleges is because it enjoys a strong relationship with organizations such as First & Farmers," LWC President William T. Luckey said. "I know of no other college that enjoys the outstanding level of local support that Lindsey Wilson receives from the businesses and citizens of Columbia-Adair County."
