2012 Post 15 Citizen's Police Academy starts September 3, 2012 Deadline to apply is August 28, 2012. Classes will be held at the State Fire Rescue Training Center, 385 Old Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY, starting Monday, September 3, 2012. Graduation is November 5, 2012 IMPORTANT NOTE: Those chosen to participate in the class do not receive any specialized training certifications or law enforcement powers. By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY (COLUMBIA, KY) - Kentucky State Police, Post 15, is now accepting applications for the 2012 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week academy is slated to begin Monday, September 3, 2012 and will meet every Monday from 7pm-9:30pmET/6pm-8:30pmCT through graduation on Monday, November 5, 2012. Attendees will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police to include class room topics such as criminal patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Participants will also take part in simulated traffic stops, crime scene scenarios and evidence collection. The Academy will be held at the State Fire Rescue Training Center, 385 Old Greensburg Road in Campbellsville. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post 15 at 270-384-4796 or by visiting Kentucky State Police Post 15 Anyone 18 years of age living within the Kentucky State Police, Post 15 counties is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend but space is limited. Applications will not be accepted after August 28, 2012 at 12pm noon ET/11amCT. Those chosen to participate in the class do not receive any specialized training certifications or law enforcement powers. This is an educational experience created to help increase public awareness and community oriented policing. Once completed, applications can be mailed to the attention of TFC.
