Joe Waylon Murrell, Adair Co., KY (d. July 11, 2012)

He was a native of Adair County, KY with many relatives here. Services and burial will be in New Hope. He was the son of the late James and Patrie Murrell of Adair County.

Joe Waylon Murrell, 79, Louisville, KY, formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital.

Funeral services for Joe Waylon Murrell will be Monday, July 16, 2012, at 12pm noon ET/11amCT, at Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery in New Hope, KY. Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 15, 2012, 3pm-8pmET/2pm-pmCT, again on Monday, 9amET/8amCT until time of service at Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, 324 Center Street, New Haven, KY.



He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Patrie Murrell; two sisters, Alterine Keltner and Agnes Murrell; two brothers, Seyman and Stanton Murrell; and his wife, Hazel Murrell on June 23, 2010.

He is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Joey Dean (Dianna) Murrell, Louisville, KY; James Timothy (Carrie) Murrell, Perryville, KY; and Michael Dearing (Michelle) Murrell, Columbia, KY

  • One step son: Scott Williason

  • One step daughter: Diae Cascante

  • Seven grandchildren: Joanna, Matthew, Cameron, Christina, Sarah, Cara, and Chloe Murrell

  • Two step granddaughters: Jennifer Bebe and Candace Burke

  • Two sisters: Annette Scott and Yvonne Gibson
