Abe Luttrell, 92, Casey Co., KY (1920-2012)

He was a Liberty, KY, native, and the patriarch of a large, highly regarded Casey County family. He leaves 15 direct living descendants. He was a retired merchant with the former Abe's Food Market. He served in the United States Navy in World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church

Abe Luttrell passed away on Monday July 2nd, 2012 at the Casey County Hospital in Liberty, Kentucky. He was born in Liberty, Kentucky on May 2nd, 1920 and was 92Visitation will be 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, Thursday, July 5, 2012, and after 8amET/7amCT, Friday morning at the Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services officiated by Reverend Jimmy Brown will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012, at 1pmET/12pm noon CT, at the Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 1492 KY 49, Liberty, KY. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.


Abe Luttrell, 92, Casey Co., KY (1920-2012)


Abe was the son of James Luttrell and Betty Jones Luttrell, (both deceased). He was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY, on Tuesday, May 2, 1920. He died Monday, July 2, 2012 in Liberty, Casey County, Ky, at the age of 92 years, 2 months.

He was a retired merchant with the former Abe's Food Market in Liberty, KY. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Abe was preceded in death by his spouse Pearl Mae Passmore Luttrell and eleven siblings. Survivors include:
  • Two sons; Harold Glenn Luttrell and George Abe Luttrell, both of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters; Shela Pearl Luttrell Goode and Elicia Mae Luttrell both of Liberty, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Jeffrey Glenn Luttrell, Stephanie Dawn Luttrell, George Lincoln (Linc) Luttrell, Shawn Fred Goode, Dustin William Emerson and Ryan Abe Goode

  • Four great grandchildren

  • And one great great grandchild
