Campbellsville Police make traffic stop leading to drug charges

Danville, KY man lodged in Taylor County Detention Center; faces charges of Contempt of Court (warrant - Boyle County); Failure to Wear Seat Belt; Possession of Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st degree; and Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st degree

The Campbellsville Police Department) initiated a traffic stop on Logan Street, leading to an arrest for drug possession and manufacture.Thursday June 21, 2012 at approximately 6:50pmET,, Officer Ryan Jewell initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Adam W. Lee, age 30; 105 B East Jefferson Street, Danville, KY for failure to wear a seat belt.


Further contact with Lee revealed he did not have an Operators License in his possession. Officer Jewell investigated further by conducting a driver's license inquiry only to determine that Lee was wanted on a warrant issued in Boyle County for Contempt of Court.

Officer Jewell searched the suspect incidental to his arrest and discovered drug paraphernalia in his pocket. This led to consent to search of the vehicle where a container held a substance suspected to be Methamphetamines - meth.A field drug kit examination result confirmed the substance was positive match for Meth. In addition, another substance was discovered which is suspected to be Marijuana. Lee was also in possession of materials commonly used as precursors for the manufacture of Methamphetamines.

Lee was arrested and lodged in the Taylor County Regional Detention Center for Contempt of Court (warrant - Boyle County); Failure to Wear Seat Belt; Possession of Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st degree; and Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st degree.

The case remains under investigation by Officer Ryan Jewell.
