News from Adair Farmers Market

Finally, tomatoes. They green, at Dad's place, but tomatoes, nonetheless. A lot of buyers tell us they are like nothing better than fresh from the garden, Adair County Grown Fried Green Tomatoes!

I baked extra today: I have four kinds of bread, here, along with the other tables here this morning:


  • Cait Bunnell, Coview Farms, Coburg, KY. Call 270-634-8207: Zucchini Bread. White Bread. Wheat Bread. Lemon Bread.
  • Darrell Bunnell, Coview Farms, Coburg, KY. Call 270-634-8207 : Fresh produce - Red Potatoes. White Potatoes. Yukon Gold Potatoes. Beets. Turnips. GREEN TOMATOES. Cabbage. Plants- Pepper Plants. Mum Plants. Eggplant plants. Herb plants- Dill. Sage. Basil. Oregano. Rosemary. Lemon Balm.
  • Ken Mooney, Greater Cane Valley, KY: Blue Lake Green Beans. Red Potatoes. Pickling Cucumbers. Slicing Cucumbers. Yellow Squash. Zucchini. (A reminder: The 4th of July is only two weeks off: Ken is open at 10amCT today at his big Fireworks Tent at Adair Gun & Pawn and Betty's OKCC, across from Trinity United Methodist Church, on Campbellsville Road for those.)
  • Margie Rooks, Sano, KY: Slicing and Pickling Cucumbers. Yellow Squash Zucchini. Patty Pan Squash. BLACKBERRIES. Zucchini. Patty Pan Squash. Rhubarb. Red Potatoes. White Potatoes. Blue Potatoes. Yukon Gold Potatoes. Cabbage. Green Onions.
New Hours for 2012:

The Adair County Farmer's Market has new hours for 2012. Hours will be Tuesdays, Two Sessions at 6am-10amCT AND 3pm-6pmCT AND Fridays 6am-10amCT. The Farmer's Market will begin Saturday morning sales, 7am-11amCT, June 23, 2012.

Four kinds of bread + green tomatoes at Farmers Market

Caitlin Helm has four kinds of bread today: White, Wheat, Zucchini, and Lemon Bread. Her father, Darrell Bunnell of also of Coview Farms, Coburg, KY has the first tomatoes of the season. They are nice, big tomatoes - green ones - ready for a seasonally No. 1 Southern mainstay, Fried Green Tomatoes. The farmers market is open this Friday morning, June 22, 2012, from 6am-10pmCT.
