The Sterlings reuniting for 2nd time in 39 years

New group, with three of orginal five Sterlings - plus drummer Bobby Coffey, will perform at 3rd Annual Bull Run MusicFest as "The Classic Sterlings."

The Sterlings, a rock n roll band, which played locally as well as statewide, will be reuniting for only the second time in 39 years.



The original band included Mark Pyles, Tony Loy, Harry Pyles, Victor Morrison, and Jerry Pyles.

The reunited band, will include Tony Loy, Jerry Pyles, Mark Pyles, and local drummer Bobby Coffey, will perform as "The Classic Sterlings," for obvious reasons.

The band stayed together for a decade, from the mid-1960's to the mid-1970's. At the June 29-30 Bull Run event, they will be performing a segment which will include many of the favorites of 30-40 years ago. The event starts at 6pmCT Friday, June 29, 2012, and at 11amCT on Saturday, June 30, 2012.

The 3rd Bull Run Charity Music Fest will be at the home of Larry & Sheila Bryant, 1601 Bull Run Road, Columbia, KY, It is starring Salvation Street Blues Trio, In the Middle of Nowhere, Southern Protocol, Plain Jane, John Capps, Mudd River Union, Kenton Bryant, Jaclyn Graves, The Sterlings, and Salvage Town.

Salvage Town is an alt-Country group which includes Kyle Beard, vocalist; Easton Bryant, guitar; Aaron Waters, bass; and Martin Ballou on drums. Their latest album is "So Glad You Came."

This year's program will benefit Kosair Children' Hospital, Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society, and Randall Grant and Family.
