Tractor Show founder Lewis Garrison a hit with crowd at HGR

Several hundred Kentuckians attended the 16th annual Russell Creek/Homeplace on Green River Antique Tractor Show at Homeplace on Green River Saturday. More than 40 gas engines and tractors participated. The highlight of the show was a parade of 18 of the tractors from Homeplace via Tebbs Bend and across the Green River Dam and back. There were also tractor competitions and a pedal tractor pull for youngsters. Adair County contractor and antique tractor collector Lewis Garrison, who has hosted the show until this year, won the Peoples Choice trophy awarded to the participant who collected the most votes from those attending the show. -George Kolbenschlag

Founder Lewis Garrison recognized Adair County contractor and host of the show for the past 15 years was awarded the People's Choice trophy both for the tractors he brought to the show and his long history as host of the very popular event. He asked Homeplace to host the show this year. Awarding the trophy to Lewis is Dr. Max Downey, member of the Homeplace Board of Directors Executive Committee. - George Kolbenschlag
