Travel: KY 70/I-65 lane changeover - 7amCT, Fri., June 15, 2012

By Keirsten Jaggers, Public Affairs Officer
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Bowling Green, KY

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (June 14, 2012) - KYTC contract crews will be shifting traffic on KY 70 at the reconstructed interchange with I-65 in Cave City Friday morning, June 15, 2012, at 7amCT.

Traffic will be shifted over from the old bridge to the new section of bridge that has been constructed. This temporary alignment will be in place for the next 2-3 months until the remaining portion of the new bridge can be constructed.

During this time, the speed limit will be reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph from the KY 90/KY 70 intersection to the Windmill Restaurant adjacent to Guntown Mountain.

A 25 mph advisory will be posted at the bridge.

The temporary alignment involves a shift in lanes as well as a slight change in elevation and motorists are strongly encouraged to reduce their speed when traveling through this construction work zone. -Keirsten Jaggers
