Two candidates remain: Alan W. Reed of Columbia, KY; and Mark Thomas, Cox's Creek in Nelson County, of three who made the final cut

By Ed Waggener

The Adair County Board of Education went into Executive Session at 5:03pmCT, this evening, June 4, 2012, for the purpose of interviewing finalists for Superintendent of Adair Public Schools.

Three candidates made it to the final cut: Alan Reed, Columbia, KY; Mark Thomas, Cox's Creek, Nelson County, KY; and Marvin Welch of Richmond, Madison County, KY.

One candidate, Marvin Welch, withdrew and will not be interviewed.

Board Attorney Jeff Hoover said that because the interviews are in a special called meeting with only the interviews stated on the agenda, no action would be taken after the interviews are over tonight. That will come in a special called meeting, which may come later this week. The next regular session is Thursday, June 21, 2012.

All Board Members were present.
