LWC Women's Tennis No. 8 in NAIA Top-25 postseason poll

KANSAS CITY, MO - Lindsey Wilson College made the largest move upward in the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top-25 Postseason Poll, released on Tuesday by NAIA officials.



The Blue Raiders climbed three spots to No. 8 in the final poll of the season thanks to their quarterfinal appearance in the NAIA National Tournament last week in Mobile, AL.

Lindsey Wilson (17-4) received 269 voting points from the national raters after pulling off the biggest upset of the national tournament -- beating then-No. 6-ranked Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) University. Point Loma Nazarene dropped to No. 9 in the final poll.

Auburn University Montgomery (AL) claims the top spot after winning the national title last week. The Warhawks received 343 voting points and all 13 first-place votes. Embry-Riddle (FL) University is No. 2 with 332 voting points while Fresno Pacific (CA) University is No. 3 with 321 voting points.The poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each conference, the independents and unaffiliated groups. -Chris Wells
