James Nolan Cundiff, Adair County, KY, 89, (d. May 22, 2012)

Mr. Cundiff was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, a US Army Veteran of World War II where he was a prisoner of war for two years. He came home to become owner of City Supply on Greensburg Road. He will receive full military honors by VFW Post 6097

James Nolan Cundiff, 89, of the Pollards Chapel community of Adair County, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Officiating clergy will be Bro. James Walker and Bro. Ivan Tucker. Interment will be in the Cane Valley Cemetery, 83 Cane Valley Cemetery Road, Cane Valley, KY, with full military honors by VFW Post 6097. The family requests visitation after 3:30pmCT, on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Stotts Phelps McQueary Funeral.



Casketbearers: Casket bearers are: Udell Montgomery, Alex Corbin, Bradley Burris, Andy Collins, Wayne Hatcher, Thomas Harmon.


He is survived by the following:
  • His wife: Betty Jane Hancock Cundiff of Columbia, KY

  • Two daughters: Linda Cundiff Hedgepeth and husband Scotty of Finley, KY, and Mary Cundiff Garrison and husband Ron of Cane Valley, KY

  • Two sons: James Miller Cundiff and wife Nancy of Columbia, KY; Mitchell Cundiff and Crystal of Columbia, KY

  • One grandson: Preston Cundiff

  • One step granddaughter: Danielle Robertson
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Hancock Cemetery Fund, the Cane Valley Cemetery or the Disabled American Veterans.Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, in charge of arrangements.
