Kentucky Girls All-Star Basketball Team practices at LWC Adair County native Stacy Pendleton names longtime Adair County High School Coach Keith Young named Honorary Coach of team. Click on headline for full story with photo(s) By Ed Waggener Lindsey Wilson College was host to the Kentucky High School Girls All Star Basketball team this past weekend, May 19-20, 2012Adair County native Stacy Pendleton, whose du Pont Manual High School team won this year's Kentucky State Girls' Basketball State Championship brought the talented group to Holloway Wellness Center Wellness Center. They were the invited by President Bill Luckey and were guests of the college. Coach Pendleton named his old mentor and friend, Keith Young, Adair County, Honorary All Stars Coach. Young participated in the practice and will be on the bench with the active coaches at the two all Star Games on June 8-9, 2012. The first game will be at 6pmET, at Freedom Hall, 937 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY; the second will be the following night in Indianapolis at Conseco Field House, 125 S. Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis, IN, at the same time. This year's team is extremely talented: All of the players are headed to Division I Schools, according to Jennifer Parsons, Corbin Head Coach and Assistant All Stars Coach. Three will be back in the area: Kendall Noble, Micah Jones and LeAsia Wright going WKU. KABC (Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches) coaches of the year from each district voted on the players. Forty players were invited try out at Georgetown College and the players at Lindsey were the ones who made that cut. They include: April Wilson, Manual; Micah Jones, Green County; Lauren Bodine, Manual; LeAsia Wright, Manual; Bre Elder, Marion County; ; Hopkinsville; Christine Roush, Mercy; Jasmine Whitfield, South Oldham; Kendall Noble, Perry Co. Central; Courtney Roush, Mercy; not pictured, Sydney Moss, Boone County; and Kara Wright, Manual. Besides Coach Pendleton, Coach Young, and Assistant Coach Jennifer Parsons, Chris Souders, Mercer County Head Coach, and Assistant All Stars Coach also participated in practice. Coach Pendleton was pleased with the hospitality shown the group while here. "I can't thank President Luckey enough. It was a great experience for the team. The Wellness Center was a perfect practice location," he said, "and everyone appreciated the use of the dorm rooms and the wonderful food served by the college."
