Click on headline for complete story with photo(s)

By April Shepperd

Last week ACHS Senior Art Students challenged their artistic skills and travelled to Louisville to blow and fuse art glass at Glassworks. Some students worked with local artists to create blown glass ornaments in the Flame Run hot shop while others created jewelry and sun catchers using fused glass techniques in the Mark Payton Glass Center.

Afterwards, the students visited The Museum at 21C Hotel where they interacted with the museum's unique art exhibits and displays. Students ended the day with a lunch at the artistically quirky Lynn's Paradise Cafe.

Students of teacher Debra Wimmer who made the trip were Angela Barker, Ashley Brown, Elizabeth Caldwell, Sarah Hadley, Courtney James, Kayla Kelsay, Chelsea Nowlin, Cora Nowlin, Brandy Parson, Portia Roberts, Randy Streeval. Also attending were other local students Julie Gerard, Bailey Shepperd and Kate Wimmer. - April Shepperd
